Based on Buddhist Astrology and influenced by Hindu mythology, the colors are assigned to days based on the color of the ruling god for the particular day of the week. People in Thailand often wear clothes that match the color of the day of the week (just have a look around on Monday!). Although more attention is usually paid to the day of the week you were born because this is considered your lucky day.
